Apple Crisp or Apple Cobbler is a Dessert made up of a baked apple filling and a simple topping.

Ingredients

Procedure

  1. For The Filling
    1. Stir together apples, 2/3 cup sugar and 4 Tbl. water in a large sauce-pan. Simmer, covered for 5 minutes or until fruit is tender.
    2. Add 2 Tbl. water and 1 Tbl. cornstarch. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly.
  2. For The Topping
    1. In a medium bowl stir together flour, 2 Tbl. sugar, and baking powder.
    2. Cut in butter until mixture resembles large crumbs. Set aside.
    3. In a small bowel stir together the egg and milk. Add to flour mixture, just to moisten.
  3. Transfer filling to 2-Quart square baking dish.
  4. Using a large spoon drop topping into small mounds on top of the filling.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes in a 400 °F oven (205 °C).
